Family Christmas Photos

I finally got our Christmas cards out in the mail about a week before Christmas. It has been killing me to not post these sooner, but I wanted to get the cards out so people could see the pictures there first!

I always have so much to do on a weekly basis but especially during the holidays. This year, I had to do Andrew's realtor gifts. I hand put together 150 gifts with a Christmas Card, socks, and a note and of course finished off with a bow. I also had our Christmas present shopping, we were hosting so I was preparing for that, and Andrew's mom tore her meniscus so I helped do her Christmas shopping too. Not to mention all the other little things we had to do that is our normal life! It was crazy none the less, and I was even surprised I got these photos done, and they turned out! I was also surprised I got the cards out before Christmas. I thought for sure they would end up being New Years cards! I surprised myself!

I didn't really have a plan for these pictures. Well I did have a "pla", but it didn't pan out. I got the idea from my great friend Jill Mancuso. I saw her family was taking their card photo in their kitchen making cookies. I thought it was a fantastic idea, and tried to do it too. It was pretty much like a "pinterest fail" because I opened the fridge to put out the ingredients, and somehow was out of butter, and eggs. When the wonderful Lacey was there to start taking the photos, I realized what I was dealing with and tried to make the best out of it. I guess you can totally fake it till you make it because these photos look like we really made cookies! Just thought I would give you a inside look that things are not always as they may seen in the photos! Our kids were fussy, didn't want to pose for anything, and we couldn't even make the cookies correctly! When life gives you lemons, and no sugar, you make sugarless lemonade!

I am seriously obsessed with these photos though. We had Lacey Bee Photography take them and she always does such a great job at capturing our crazy life. Most of you know with children, there isn't really "posing". Lacey does a great job and capturing life while it is moving and not posed, but it looks like a paradise life. This girl is magic, and we are so happy with the special photos she took!
