Back in September, I threw my sister’s baby shower! It was part of my three parties in 4 weeks [ended up being 5 weeks because I ended up extending Andrew’s party a week] I was planning, and I was so happy with how it turned out.
She wanted it book themed, and I had fun creating this day for her! We had it at the The Teapot, which is a super cute venue to host events at. We wanted somewhere that had character and was quaint. This venue was perfect and the owner was absolutely great to work with! He was very helpful and accommodating to our needs and wants! It had a playhouse in the back for the kids to play in and toys! The kids corner indoors was also quite cute and entertained my kids for some time! We had Pita Jungle for food, as well as some Bruschetta [my sister’s mother-in-law brought] and other appetizers! The cupcakes were from Sweet Daddy’s Cupcakes but we made the cupcake toppers ourselves by buying the edible screen printed book title pages and putting them on fondant! The wooden blocks in the different children’s story themes were also from an Etsy shop, Barney & Boo. The cut out letter book is from Studio Wildflower and was perfect for the theme! One of my favorite “games” of the party was every person drew a photo that corresponded to a letter [made by Mrs Imperfect] and once finished, we will create a ABC book for the baby to cherish forever with drawings from his family and friends who so deeply love him. It’s always a blast being able to spend time and celebrate with your family. I will tell you; family time is never wasted time.
The shower was fun by all and we were so glad to be showering my sister and her husband! We are so excited for their baby boy who will be here in December! I miss having her around especially during this special time, but even though there may be distance between us, I will always be here to support her and help anyway I can!
